Pool Filtering There are three options for pool filtering with our pools. The first is sited behind the steps and consists of two filters which skim the water. This is Christal Pools patented system. The water, via the hollow steps, is then passed to a "local technique" (a pump box) which houses the water pump and timer. Returned water returns via the steps and enters the pool at the foot of the steps. The second option is a "Bloc Filtrant". This system is a self contained filtration system. It houses the filters, pump, timer and
(optionally) a second pump to offer the choice of a Contra Current (also known as a swim jet). It also has a pool light and hydro massage.
The last choice is that of a traditional exterior sited filtration system. This consists of a large sand filter, connected to a pump via a multi-way valve. This system is usually an open system which needs cleaning occasionally to maintain the efficiency of the sand by way of cleaning it with water from the pool and then topping up the pool with fresh water. Accumulated dirt from the filter is usually sent to waste over open ground or, if available, a fosse.
For any of the above system it is common to have an in-pool cleaner along the lines of those shown below. These can range from simple systems that clean the floor of the pool to those that clean the walls as well.
